Breathing in the rhythm 1:1:1 can help balance your thoughts and emotions, while keeping you awake and alert.
I used the ratio 1:1:1 to represent 3 phases of a breathing cycle, ie: Inhale : Retention with Air : Exhale.

You may have noticed that you move the spine in all different ways in yoga class. This is intentional! The spine holds the spinal cord -- and the spinal cord plus the brain, together, make the central nervous system, or the CNS. Maintaining a healthy spine works wonders for your nervous system.
In many of my yoga classes, we’ve been vocalizing the sound “ôm” to bring a close to each practice. Here is an excellent recording of the continuous ôm sound: Ôm: The most powerful of the mantras.
